It is Christmas Eve at the Stahlbaum house. The Stahlbaum family is getting ready to host their annual holiday party. Fritz and Clara are looking forward to spending the evening with their friends and family. Their magical and mysterious Uncle Drosselmeyer surprises everyone at the festive event and brings his new trusted assistant. Drosselmeyer, with his magic tricks and enchanted dolls, amuses the party guests and they all begin to dance. To Clara’s delight, the assistant notices her and with the presentation of a special gift, a Nutcracker, a small romance ensues. Fritz gets jealous of all the attention that Clara is receiving and breaks her precious Nutcracker doll. Clara is completely heartbroken, but Uncle Drosselmeyer comes to her rescue. He quickly repairs her Nutcracker as Fritz gets reprimanded by his father. As the evening draws to a close, our Mr. and Mrs. Stahlbaum share a special moment while the children head to bed. Our young Clara remembers her special gift she received from Uncle Drosselmeyer’s assistant and goes searching for her new Nutcracker to reminisce and dream over the evening. Here the adventure begins...

As Clara falls asleep, strange things begin to happen. The Rat Empress appears and as the clock strikes midnight, she begins to make her move, but unbeknownst to her, Drosselmeyer stops her in her tracks. In order to protect Clara, Drosselmeyer brings her beloved Nutcracker to life and a daring battle ensues. The Nutcracker seems to be no match for the Rat Empress. Young Clara grows in courage out of fear of losing her love and the Rat Empress gets bested by the newly brave Clara, but to the demise of the Nutcracker. Clara runs to check on her beloved Nutcracker and begs Uncle Drosselmeyer to revive him. Drosselmeyer loves his niece so much and brings life back to the Nutcracker and turns him into the Nutcracker Prince.

The Nutcracker turns into a Prince and Drosselmeyer takes both Clara and the Nutcracker Prince on a journey to an enchanted Winter Wonderland that he created for them, where the borders of dream and reality are blurred. The Snow King, and his glistening Snowflakes dance for Clara and the Nutcracker Prince dazzling them with a frenzy of snow flurries. They are swept away in the moment and dance with the beautiful Snowflakes creating a blizzard that takes them to the Kingdom of the Sweets.

Drosselmeyer leads Clara and the Nutcracker Prince to continue their journey in the Kingdom of the Sweets, where the Sugar Plum Fairy happily relinquishes her throne for Clara and the festivities begin. The Kingdom of the Sweets goes beyond the expectations and fantasy of any young girl. All activities are initiated and created by the magical actions of Uncle Drosselmeyer. Meanwhile back in Clara’s dream there is sweetness, fantasy, new love and victory mixed with exotic characters from Spain, China, France, Arabia, and Russia who perform in honor of Clara. The Baker and her Macarons make an appearance for Clara too! The Dew Drop Fairy and the Flowers arrive and perform a wonderful waltz followed by the Sugar Plum Fairy and the Cavalier’s bravura presentation all for Clara. Suddenly, Clara hears a familiar voice and sits up and sees the face of her mother and father looking over her. She has been on the sofa dreaming the entire time. Clara’s parents gently get her on her feet, give her a big hug and lead her back to bed. Once again Clara forgets her Nutcracker Doll, so she runs back to the sofa and picks the Nutcracker up from the floor but when she looks up to her surprise, Drosselmeyer and the Nutcracker Prince are still waiting for her in her dreams!
